What to Do After the Interview?

* * * Send a Thank-You Letter * * *

After the interview, get the correct name, the complete job title, and the address of the person who interviewed you. Write a simple thank you letter. This will show the interviewer your appreciation and ambition. It will also make your interviewer think of you again when he/she receives the letter in the mail. You would be surprised at how impressed employers are by this small demonstration of appreciation. Be sure to do this right away. Do not wait until a week has passed.

Write one paragraph thanking the exployer for the job interview. Just say "thank you" once either in the opening or closing sentence of your letter. You can make a comment that you enjoyed talking with him or her and learning more about the company, and that you hope to hear from him or her in the future. State a specific aspect of the job that most interested you, or a part of the job you feel most qualified for. Or, add a brief reason why you are a good candidate for this job.
